Full-Time Golf Course Grounds Worker

Job Description
The groundskeeper performs the following functions:
• Mows greens, aprons, fairways, roughs, tees, and other areas.
• Operates mowers and string trimmers in trimming greens, aprons, tees, around
trees, fence lines, banks, and hillsides; edges cart paths; edges, rakes, and
maintains sand bunkers.
• Operates front-deck mower, spreader, top-dresser, SandPro, front loader, Gator,
tractor, and finish mower; may operate greens mower.
• Aerifies greens, verticuts tees and greens, spikes greens, operates spray rigs and
spreaders, operates portable pumps, and operates other equipment as directed.
• Ensures that the equipment cooling and other systems are working at all times;
refills fuel and oil daily; cleans equipment daily, and reports equipment problems
or failures to manager and lead groundskeeper immediately.

Requirements
• Basic knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of tractors and other
motorized equipment.
• Basic knowledge of the principles of operation of diesel and gasoline engines.
• Mechanical aptitude; knowledge of maintenance tools.
• Knowledge of methods and materials used in grounds and landscape area
construction and maintenance work.
• Working knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools and equipment.
• Physical strength, stamina and agility.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to work early morning hours and alternate weekend mornings.
• Some familiarity golf helpful but not required.
