Job Description
PR.com, one of the top press release distribution services, seeks a Communications Specialist. The ideal candidate is a proactive, tech savvy, assertive team player who can juggle a variety of assignments within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Proofread and process press releases for distribution online and to the media.
- Media relations, outreach, pitching, working with traditional media, websites and bloggers.
- Execute our social media strategy and activities on Facebook, Twitter, blogs and other social channels to connect with customers, generate content and drive positive brand sentiment.
Requirements:
- Superior writing, editing, researching, communication and proofreading skills
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications, English or related field a plus
- Experience writing press releases quickly and accurately, and editing press releases or news stories for spelling, grammar, clarity, accuracy, style, objectivity, news value, libelous content, etc. a plus
- Passionate, social media expert, active in Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, blogs, etc.
- Media relations, public relations, social media outreach, writing, marketing and database experience a plus
- Strong self-motivation with ability to prioritize multiple tasks, working independently or as part of a team
- Technical skills and computer literacy; proficiency in standard business applications (i.e., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Web, etc.)
- Willing and happy to work as hard as it takes to meet and exceed goals
- Experience working with customers in a consulting or customer service capacity a plus
